Have you heard? Qualtrust is joining forces with Texas Trust Credit Union. That means as of November 1, 2017, we will not be opening additional Qualtrust accounts. But fret not! Texas Trust has a variety of products and services designed to meet your needs.

If you are interested in opening an account, head to Texas Trust to learn about the great options available to you.

How Do I Join the Credit Union?

Qualtrust, a Texas Trust Credit Union, offers more than products and services. We offer financial solutions. We are a full-service financial institution owned and operated by our members and federally insured through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Because we are not-for-profit, we're able to offer our members higher savings rates, low loan rates and low/no fees on services.

The Credit Union Advantage

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives owned and operated by members. While banks and other institutions are primarily concerned with profit, credit unions return all earnings above expenses and reserves to their members/owners in the form of dividends. Each account Qualtrust offers is insured by the National Credit Union Administration's Share Insurance Fund up to $250,000. IRA's are also insured up to $250,000.

People Helping People is the credit union philosophy and has been our way of doing business since 1948. We want your business for life. Once a Member, Always a Member, regardless of whether you change jobs or retire. And, your family and household members are eligible to join too!

Qualtrust Credit Union's History

From our humble beginning on June 7, 1948, with six members and $35 in cash, your credit union has grown to over 26,000 members and over $150 million in assets. Our original field of membership was employees of San Angelo Telephone Company in Tom Green County and surrounding counties in Texas. In March of 2004, General Technologies Federal Credit Union changed its name to Qualtrust Federal Credit Union to better reflect the foundations of the credit union: quality and trust. The name change also reflected the growing diversity of membership. In addition to serving Verizon employees in the Southwest states, Qualtrust serves over 50 select employee groups and two geographical regions including all of Tom Green County. In May 2017, the members of Qualtrust voted to join forces with Texas Trust Credit Union. The two credit unions merged under the Texas Trust umbrella on October 1, 2017.
